The current thieves and thugs running America would have done equally bad things if AI were not there.
They make money by removing witnesses to various illegal activities; and that means important decisions are made by rather stupid people who do not understand much, who would use astrology instead, if not for AI
The unfortunate side effect is people dying, unnecessarily. Of course, the institutions they undermine are part of the reason for stability and growth, so they are undermining American economic superiority. This will screw the wealthy more than the poor in the long run.
It will really screw them if it gets so bad that we all fight back. It’s pretty much a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face, but doing so to seek short term profit.
I’m sure after killing a bunch of school children, they’ll stop now, right? Right…
