This is likely some antisemitism avoidance training side effects. Not necessarily a anti Islam sentiment from Google.

AI reflects the writings of an average redditor/person of the Internet. People tend communicate feeling unsafe using the phrasing used above, hence the AI response is likely good.

You know that you don’t actually need to advocate for the devil?

If they could adjust the model so that Israelis are treated humanely, they could do that for Arabs and other marginalised groups as well.

Guardrails tend to interfere with model performance and are often considered negative. Hence they can’t do that easily. Also it’s a whole lot of work.

Oh no, the world’s most profitable company has to some work so their dumb machine will stop being racist.

Their dumb machine gets dumber if you make it less racist. Ie. It’s not just work but also a tradeoff.

If its a tradeoff between a slightly less efficient bullshit machine and a more efficient bullshit machine, that’s also racist, then shouldn’t it be done?

Since you do not value it anyway it is a trivial decision to you, but not to people who try to provide a good product.

Provide a product that isn’t racist. Your argument is basically “we have a great car that occasionally sexually assaults the driver, it’s a bit annoying for us to make it not do that and we think it would also make it a worse car”

The product works as advertised. It reproduces the typical response to the question without bothering a human.

The only thing worse than real life racism is Lemmy instance racism

Unlike one’s race, one may choose their lemmy instance. You chose the one that specifically favors and is named after a specific worldview. Your argument is lame and trivializes actual racism.

            It was a joke, friendo.

Also I think plenty of people like me choose an instance before they know anything about the ecosystem. Nobody enforces any ideology on me. I’m not really into communism but it doesn’t seem to be an issue, and I don’t mind that other people are.

It always is when confronted, I’m sure.

Also I think plenty of people like me choose an instance before they know anything about the ecosystem.

Understandable. It’s what happens after that point that matters.

Nobody enforces any ideology on me.

I didn’t say they did. In fact I was specific about it being a choice you made.

I’m not really into communism but it doesn’t seem to be an issue, and I don’t mind that other people are.

That’s not the problem with the .ml community. The problem is they support dictatorship and spread genocide denial propaganda to discredit opposition to said dictatorships. They’re as communist as a republican politician is heterosexual.
