An inefficient system that has successfully executed a speed run of industrialization twice and did so while destroying poverty, homelessness, and malnutrition and brought cost of living down for the entire population within 30 years?

You have no idea what you’re talking about

Do you think the issues were because of the government being bad at money? Ignoring the constant sabotage by republicans/corporations then lack of fixes from dems?

Usps got fucked by Republicans requirements to fully fund pensions at once then an actual person (who Biden did nothing about) from shipping companies appointed to fuck it over.

Amtrak is both under funded and screwed by this countries refusal to do anything good with rail. On just about every line they are the lowest priority because the country won’t build new lines as they have to run on rails owned by freight companies

I just love their examples of us government being bad with money are the exact examples of how corporations screwed up things not anything with the government and money while saying the corporations are the ones to trust

they are going to hold trump to account… and by that i mean they are going to have never ending hearings as a giant circus, so they can do mostly the same things the republicans do with everyone distracted. but trump will never see prison time, neither will any of his people. ultimately they answer to the same people.

and then the next election they will claim it’s not the time for change, because the republican canidate would be the worse person ever, so they need to field more centrist democrats. and all the rightward slide we have suffered through will be solidified under their rule. just like last time

Remember Operation Paperclip? America imported Nazi scientists post World War II after we made a big show of punishing them in the Nuremberg tribunals, but that’s all it was, a show.

Actually thinking even more recently, Merrick Garland endlessly delayed trying Trump for his endless crimes during Biden’s time in office, then the Supreme Court ruled that the president essentially has unlimited power, so long as it’s a vaguely defined “official act” (and as long as it’s a Republican president).

Problem is they know they’ll face no consequences for not doing that. Like the worst that’ll happen is conservatives go back into power in 2028 with maybe a Dem president. Libs can go back to just ranking in donation money and telling everyone that the 2030 election is the most important one of our lifetimes or the 2032 one. What a few peaceful protests that last a weekend at most every few months will change their minds?

I promise you that—from the perspective of what the Democrats claim to stand for—they’re going to waste it, because they don’t actually stand for what they claim to.

Carville had famously said of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), "I wish they’d take the word Democrat out of their name. I have no idea why the democratic socialists — if you hate the Democratic Party so much, well, then don’t use our godd*mn. Go think of your own name.”

Wow, this guy thinks the word “democratic” is some kind of trademark invented by his party. How inward-looking can you get?

Unfortunately, it’s the only “left” we have. The true left needs to form their own tea party and start electing candidates, hold Democrat policy hostage, and using primaries to out the resistors. There does not seem to be the will or unity to do this.

The will and unity was there. And then we went through 2 red scares, political purges across all major industries, the communist control act, COINTELPRO, etc.

You can’t honestly believe the solution is electoralism when the last 2 times we tried electoralism we were beaten, deported, imprisoned, and murdered. The electoral path is dead.

You can’t really hold the Democrats hostage because they’re fully willing to lose in order to stop leftist insurgents. While Democrats can bash their left flank over the head with “blue no matter who!” the DSA-types can’t do the same to centrists.

It’s important for them to try, and demonstrate it can’t be done, but I don’t hold out hope for that as an effective strategy.

And they always will. The left has always been and will always be a greater threat to them than the Republican Party, because we’re a threat to capitalism.
