Even farmers who were already promised funds from the REAP program may never get them under the Trump admin’s new restrictions. Some are suing.
I’ll note that rural utilities have been quite subsidized since the New Deal; the idea was that making electricity and phone service universal would benefit the country as a whole and bring everybody on board with the idea of government doing things for people.

Well, a certain type of folk refuse to rely on the gubmint for anything, but they’ll get mad as hell when the gubmint tries to take away something it was already giving them. That didn’t count, you see.
While bitching about socialism.
I saw a politician describing progressive efforts as using popularity to push through programs for the general good and then when there’s the inevitable backlash, you hope that the next Congress doesn’t fully undo the good and that people realize that it’s valuable and want to keep it.
Change is tough, and most people will choose bad status quo over disruptive maybe-improvement. See:conservatives
Well, as long as the brown people are disappeared, the black people and the women are put in their place, gays shoved in the closet, and trans erased, it will all be worth it I guess? We’ll show those big city libs what’s what!
The big problem is no one actually understands where their tax money is going and who’s paying what.
We pay more for what we need already, it’s just the wealthy pay nothing and most of our money goes to the wealthy.
We can have lower taxes and social programs, the wealthy just have to stop stealing everything.
Unfortunately the wealthy have convinced the ignorant that it is the poors stealing everything.
Is this just to give fossil fuel companies more money? Thanks, Trump administration!
That’s such a shame they’re getting what they voted for.
