Rented a car from booking in the name bob, for example. Name on ID is bobby, and they didnt rent us the car, called booking asking to change the name, impossible. Company then offers 10x the price reservation. Similar things happened to other people, is their any avenue I can complain about this? Thanks people.

    Well, they can’t.

    What do you expect??

Renting a car is no child’s play. You can’t do it anymously, or even with a false name. You are sailing very close to the borderline of crime.

Company then offers 10x the price reservation.

I can only guess, and I guess they had enough of you (and your complaints) then.

Lots of guessing here and I‘ll add some: OP may have described in a weird way that a name was just mispronounced.

Maybe :) you meant misspelled. Maybe :) you think that it is of no consequence.

Maybe :) OP comes from Usa where things aren’t strict by default.

Maybe you won’t get very far with such misconceptions.

I don’t see how the car rental company is at fault in the setup you describe. And the biggest mistake is using a scammy 3rd party like booking’com for interacting with the car rental company (or a hotel etc.). And if you really think this is intentionally done, then you should complain to booking*com that they shouldn’t list that car rental company.

Edit: just to clarify: correct spelling of the name is important for insurance purposes. And if you had booked with the rental company directly then there would have been no issue with changing the name most likely.

I think this is to easy. Companies list offerings on sites like Booking(.)com. The scammy part is making it difficult to change such things afterwards.

correct, and OP must file the complaint at local (Poland) Consumer Protection Authority where the company is legally based
