    Really? China appears to be able to do it primarily with state funding. As a result the infrastructure is state controlled (sovereign) and not subject to sale to and control by … international firms. She correctly points out that there’s a need for European control over AI infrastructure but capital markets do not necessarily provide that, even if the infrastructure is built in Europe. Just look at Britain’s water supply situation.

      Not so sure, I had a chat with both mistral and anthropic recently and while lagging, mistral has some interesting offerings.

      But the US and China are clear leaders in this space due to huge investments that we can’t/won’t match.

        Investments AND criminal, or at least questionable, gathering of data, that were not free to use (Music, Art etc).
