Don’t touch them, don’t even fucking glance at them, or you’ll get charged an arm and a leg in Euros. Ask for water but you wanted still and not sparkling? Fuck you son, that’s another charge you didn’t think about.
One place I went to, I shit you not, had the toilet seat and toilet paper chained to a weight you had to carry from the front of the shop to the upstairs toilet after making a purchase.
The seat chained to a weight was in Venice. TBF they did have an issue with people stealing their toilet paper…but the seat?
I will say, there was a little spot in Florence where we saw one of the workers run out the back to a nearby shop to grab an ingredient they’d just run out of. That was pretty cool of them.
