“French food is really good.” they told me during months I spent traveling all around country over many years. “It’s just complicated and most people don’t know how to cook it.”

Me “So in the past two weeks I have tried 14 different places in 6 different cities and all 14 meals have been horrible. Okay…”

There’s a reason why a tire company publishing a list of recommended places to eat when traveling around France became so popular. Its not because the average place to get food was good.

Mexico: Stopping at a gas station, a little old lady hand rolling tortillas and cooking them on an open bbq. Her “Tacos?” Me nodding vigorously"Si, si, si" They were insanely delicious.

Yeah I can’t think of any French food that I’m like yeah this is good. Michlin stars? I to like the putting on sticky gold stars in grade school to make myself feel better? I literally have no memory that I can say that was something good that I tried.

I’ll have an Irish/English breakfast or fish and chips any day. German sourdough or bratwurst and pretzels or schnitzel. Sushi any day.

The irony is there’s a what used to be a gas station, and repair place as I had my car worked on there, that’s now considered one of the best Mexican places in town.
