Yeah, the American “definition” of socialism often seems to just be everything left of fascism these days. It’s really weird how America has weaponized the term.

I sure wish they’d stop calling it socialism. But anyway, don’t you just want to shake those “no opinion” people? How can you have no fucking opinion?

If they take these polls via texts/mobile calls, that could be a portion of people they contact who don’t respond or decline to participate.

Regardless, I don’t trust polls anyway, especially when all of this is going to be used to justify the insurrection act anyway.

A couple of weeks ago, it was at about 3O%. The Citizens are tired of waiting for the parties to serve them properly, and are quickly carving their own political path. The parties better figure this out, and either get on board, or get out of the way, because we’re no longer taking orders from them.

We’re in control now, and they will serve at our pleasure, so…“What have you done for us LATELY?”

I wonder how much such polls are going to be used by the Maga fascists to justify election interference and a new red scare.

I watched the video to get an idea of what they were asking.

I’d be curious to see what the support was for the actual policies that are being labeled as socialism.

Right now I don’t think either side is looking out for the average American citizen or the longevity of the country. My next vote is no confidence.

Remember kids both parties are exactly the same, they’ve caused the same amount of damage, both hate gays and immigrants the same amount, both have destroyed the same amount of regulations on businesses that harm us. So don’t bother voting because they’re exactly the same. That’ll fix things for sure.

Both parties are blatantly corrupt, violate constitutional safeguards, both are rewriting history and reality, both parties cancelled infrastructure spending, both parties cancelled economic development and new energy projects, both parties cancelled student loan assistance ……

Both parties make their money by serving their puppet masters who steal money from us. The middle class used to capture 25% of GDP back in the 70’s. Now we’re lucky to capture 7%. And we’ve had plenty of politicians from both sides that just made the problem worse. It’s not Dem’s vs. Rep’s, it’s the rich enslaving the poor. Always has been, always will be.

There is no way that is true. Harris sucked, and I voted for her. It’s the other choice that was far, far worse. Dems were basically forced at gunpoint to vote Harris.

Are you saying between two options, she was worse than Trump? She most definitely was positive amongst other options.

Polls on views of an ideology and party polls of a candidate are a bit different.

Regardless, these are real views from people who respond to polling opportunities, so they will most likely vote in kind.

You can absolutely make the argument that the sample size is too small to get an accurate read on how the US would vote in a presidential run, but it is not really a reason to say that DSA candidates will never win.

By misunderstanding what a poll indicates?

What this poll says to me is that Socialism is not seen as a boogeyman AS MUCH as it used to be. Which is pretty damn good news for anybody using the word in their campaign.

Your take right there is exactly your misunderstanding of polls. Those are not comparable due to what they are polling.

Harris was a victim of both sexism and racism in the voting process. A sad truth in the world we live in. You take those out of the picture when presenting socialism, and there might be a fighting chance.

Brother, a black man with the middle name of Hussein won a presidential election.

Yes, racism and mysogyny were challenges in the 2024 race, but it was the Democratic policy that was the primary issue.

Look at what Obama offered in his race and compare it to what Kamala offered in her race. That lack of promise accompanied with her refusal to split from Biden on foreign policy (Gaza) was enough to both not draw in enough voters and push some over to Trump.

Take a look at Trump’s policies as well. We who are here know he was lying, but to the uneducated voter, it sounded good enough to vote for over the other candidate.

My family grew up in pure socialism. It’s pretty shitty. Not defending capitalism, but I rather take capitalism over socialism anyday.

We honestly just need money out of politics. Overturn citizens united.
