Yep, our milkman in the early 70s had an electric truck for making deliveries. Efficient stops and starts, no stink, less noise…all though all the glass bottles jiggling about then seemed louder without engine noise.
Burning diesel is definitely not the best way to dampen jiggling bottle noises.
