Parliament most of Whitehall and Downing Street haven’t been updated in decades.
There’s been talk of moving parliament somewhere else while the building is remodeled / rebuilt from the inside completely.
Downing Street probably isn’t far behind it.
The building has been described as a “gloomy, mice-infested, bomb-curtained rabbit warren”.
“bomb-curtained”?
I assume that means it’s got some bomb proofing structural stuff.
For all the bombs in WWII.
I thought it was from whenever the Provisional Irish Republican Army tried to shoot a mortar at it
If the British PM didn’t want to be bombed they’d
not wear clothes like thatuuhnot be so far south during the waruuuuuuhhhhnot fuck Irelanduuuhuuhh install bomb-curtains I suppose.Ireland is fine
The Troubles would like a word.
That was in Northern Ireland, and is not the UK Government’s fault. That was waged and caused by the Provisional Irish Republican Army / Sinn Féin. The British Army actually stopped the troubles from becoming a full-on civil war. We owe a lot to them.
