Steam event 25 November- 6 December
"Dear gaming community,
This is a call for you, to submit your indie games, that are original, hand crafted, focusing on GAMES WITHOUT AI.
Your game will be excluded if you use AI music, voice and art."

AI music, voice, or art
That better include code assets. Programming is an art form, and I’m tired of seeing players not give a shit because “they don’t interact with it”.
Which like, yeah you fucking do, literary anytime you hit a key or move your mouse in-game you interact with it.
I believe the issue for them is being able to recognise ai usage there?
“Your game will be excluded if you use AI music, voice and art.”
there’s one major area missing though …
there was a meme going around how musicians hate ai but use ai covers, painters hate ai but make ai music, coders hate ai but use ai music and art … this seems like one of those casesedit: oops they explicitly say further down the page that they don’t allow ai code, but they can’t verify it
but then why not include it?I’m guessing that currently comes under the ‘nothing is perfect’ banner, with hope that will improve.
A lot of these things still rely on honesty, which is unlikely to correlate with ai users.
I’m definitely not a coder (real, or poser), but I assume game code is often not as easy to check as some other forms of media. I’ve looked at game files in the past that were legible in a text editor, but I don’t believe that is the norm.
Steam are getting plenty of feedback on bluesky about nextfest being slopfest

Fucking good.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a whole community dedicated to this.
I can create one.
Me too, and like a lot of other people I would also like steam to make it much easier to avoid.
That is great! There are also users to follow on steam that put much effort in making lists of non AI games
