I went into settings, deselected ‘federate votes’ then looked it up to see what it means… and reselected it, didn’t change anything else, didn’t find anything that appeared to be to do with downvotes, but now I can downvote, for no apparent reason.

I’m on piefed.social, seemed a logical option, I did find it odd that out of the box they have lemmy.ml and quokk.au blocked, couldn’t find out why, feel like I don’t know something that others know
I have a lemmy.zip account as well, but it has been hitting errors recently, so I thought I would try piefed

Thank you, I will have a look in settings, it’s needed because “Imo this shit is busted and dumb.”

I’m new to piefed, I’m wondering why I don’t have a downvote option?
oh for sure, you are terribly important, and we are all after your lucky charms

“Meet Lumo, the zero-access encrypted AI assistant by Proton”
I had a 2 year subscription with proton, I walked away from it with more than a year remaining. The ai and the right wing thing is just the tip of the iceberg, but I don’t live to supply links and proof to proton fanboys (which is how this always goes), so all I suggest is that people pay attention to protons social media (reddit in particular) for a while before giving them your money and trusting them with your details, emails etc. If people cannot be bothered putting some effort into their choices, so be it, not my problem.
Given the comments on your own profile, it seems odd that you go looking on other peoples profiles as a way to target them
You need to step away from the ai, and try to remember how to think again.
I have a new account on piefed due to the lemmy instance I was using repeatedly having issues

Proton are an ai company because they have their own ai, they also have the most ridiculous brand fans.
for democracy burgers and missiles
TL;DR responder is a proton brand fan
Don’t use an ai company and expect privacy
my lemmy account is only 3 months old, I have no knowledge of the politics/squabbles between the instances, or even a decent understanding oh how it all works, so far it seems to integrate weirdly/awkwardly.
I only have about 30 subscriptions, 1/3 of them are slrpunk, with .ml, and .world making up a large portion of the remainder, that will no doubt change over time.
