Here’s their answer. The fuck are you doing on a fascist platform and expecting anything else?
Well, you don’t always get to choose, for me it’s among other things, my municipality and sports club posting updates and info exclusively on meta platforms. I complained, believe me, but it dalls on deaf ears.
As Geddy once put it.
Though believe me when I say I understand you. But we always have a choice. Even if you have to stick with toxic shit like that in the short-term. And if you’re not super techy. Or have the most free time available to focus on something like that yourself. We all can do more than just shout and tell people to move. I say this to myself as well.
When it comes to activities and movements like this. Ones that don’t favor the oligarchs. Centralized platforms are a liability. But they are also unfortunately the best developed. Telling people to move to alternatives. A lot of times means leaving behind Comforts or things they have come to rely on. Which just adds more friction to the friction that already exists over switching. Maybe the community doesn’t exist. Maybe it exists but no one post it. Maybe there’s no one moderating it.
I’m looking at trying to post more frequently to local communities that are neglected on the feddi. Possibly even taking over administration of them. Point is we can always choose. And there’s always a little more we can do regardless of our level of skill. Basically, I guess it’s a situation of we need to be the change we want to see.
