Self-proclaimed moderates in America tend to want stuff like universal healthcare, better public transport and taxes on the rich, and the median American voter hates Israel now. My impression is that actual moderates (the people that would be legitimately represented by Hakeem Jeffries or Kamala Harris) are very fortunately no longer a significant voter bloc, if they ever were.
