I blame Hillary and DWS for getting Trump elected in 2016. Bernie should have been the candidate.
Honestly, the entire world’s tragectory would have been different due to that one decision.
The dark timeline shit is a meme but facts like this make me think there is more to it.
Lets not forget that Biden’s pick as VP by Obama was an olive branch to the blue dogs by picking one of their staunchest backline senators.
And that the blue dogs responded by taking complete control of the Democratic Party apparatus to ensure they would always get the result they want going forward.
I think Obama proved to be very much a part of that same group of the democratic party. At least far closer to them than he ever was to being a Bernie.

Because the word “Centrist” or “Moderate” is a meaningless word that is only used to capture politically illiterate masses into believing they are “reasonable”.
It’s a dying term that people are realizing doesn’t mean anything.
The most accurate definition of “Centrist” today would be “is vague and refuses to talk about actual policy”. And probably gets donations from an Israeli PAC.
I find most “centrists” are conservatives and reactionaries who are trying to start shit online.
Online. Definitely. Talk to your average normie that doesn’t pay attention to politics. They’ll call themselves “centrist” or “moderates”. Actually ask them about policy though; you’ll find a lot of them are almost entirely aligned with the fundamentals of “the far left”. And by “the far left” I of course mean basic DSA right policy positions.
Ok. “Mainstream Democrats” then. Third way. Blue dogs. Blue MAGA. Take your pick.

They’ve always been right wing. They make the center look left. But it should always be said. Left right and center have no strong ties to democracy. Fascists are authoritarian right. Leninist authoritarian left. I guess neoliberals are going to be center authoritarian. Which sounds absurd. Until you realize that under authoritarianism left right and center is meaningless. Everything answers to the authority. So, sure I guess.
