Americans are more skeptical of government information than they were a few years ago, with majorities now saying they have little or no trust in federal government information about elections and politics, foreign affairs or the environment, a new poll finds.
The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and USA Facts shows that while mistrust of government information has grown since 2024, it’s also higher than it was at the end of President Donald Trump’s first term, underscoring how his recent attempts to dismantle parts of the federal bureaucracy may have affected public confidence in the executive branch, particularly among Democrats.

And that’s after the last guy kept insisting Israel was the good guys when they clearly were not and the economy was doing great when it clearly was not
What economic indicators were not going in the right direction in 2024?
Childhood poverty (arc) for one, but basically any one of like ten million opinion polls from that time could have told you the economy was not working for most people
Interesting. Did Biden control Congress?
He chose to campaign on the message that the economy was great after signing legislation from Congress that sabotaged it for some of the most vulnerable instead of being honest with the American people about and now we’re all suffering the consequences
Again, it very much WAS great. Virtually every metric pointing in the right direction. Especially after recovering from all the disruption due to a worldwide pandemic.
If people thought the Democrats were gaslighting them by highlighting the upside and instead went by the anecdotal while thinking the Democrats did not care that not everyone was doing well, and thought that sitting out or voting Republican was going to help them, then that’s their problem.
We are suffering the consequences because many chose to go by vibes instead of data.
So nothing actually material. Just the random thought of idiots angry about 5 trans people wanting to play sportsball.
Also, when it comes to people’s vibes, I’m pretty sure the Biden administration did have people acknowledging their feelings and/or anecdotal situations, while also acknowledging the data about the economy.
If anything, I don’t think the Democrats brag enough about their accomplishments, but I know a common trope now is to act like the Biden administration was somehow gaslighting the American people in 2024, just for pointing at the data at the time.
