Trey Parker and Matt Stone are probably two of the most courageous and talented satirist the world truly needs right now.
Props to them for being one of the only people who views Woke as something else other than just the cringe way of saying “Political Correctness”
Truly admirable and sagacious comedy CHADS!!!

What’s this South Park show? Never heard of it…but this new South America show sounds promising.
These dudes are great. I love to see this stuff.
Ehh, they are funny but they have had some Ls in the past. Two episodes come to mind:
- Both parties are the same
- Comparing being trans to identifying as a dolphin.
At least the first one is actually true…
I mean, both parties (and any party in any place of the world) is the same: a bunch of mythomaniacs, sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists, kleptomaniacs, pedophiles and murderers who don’t care about the citizens, the people, but only their own pockets and their shitty hedonisms.
Bro they’ve done 340ish episodes, they’re going to miss from time to time. 99.5% is pretty damn good.
They’ve absolutely been on the wrong side before, but they’ve also acknowledged past mistakes. Climate change is a big example.
We’re all wrong about stuff - and that’s okay. It’s what we do after we learn we’re wrong that matters.
I grew up in a time and place that had me believing homosexuality was immoral and that white men were being discriminated against by affirmative action. What I believed was wrong, and is not representative of who I am now. But I didn’t have social media or a television network keeping a record of every time I said something awful.
What do they think of US invasion and occupation of Iraq?
They did Team America World Police, in which the lesson is we are total dicks but some assholes need to be fucked.
If you are comparing the establishment parties in America right now, it is pretty accurate that both parties are the same. They are both beholden to the private Epstein’s class and the corporate lobbying interests that they are bribed with. Not to mention that they are consistently on the wrong side by supporting Israel without a fault and even actively trying to jeopardize the chances of up and coming anti establishment progressive candidates.
In regards to the dolphin episode, I know the one you are referring to and from my memory it had 0 reference to trans people. It was just about Kyle wanting to play in the NBA and his dad admitting he always wanted to be a dolphin. If you are reading that as a correlation with trans people, that’s on you.
Somehow my addled brain remembers that there was a sex change in the episode and Kyle’s dad made a fuss about the bathrooms not being accommodating to him: “South Park” Mr. Garrison’s Fancy New Vagina (TV Episode 2005) - IMDb https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0705943/
wp:Talk:South Park Republican#Pushing Republican Views
(my bold)
Yes they certainly do. Is everyone forgetting what Kyle says at the end of the Bin Laden episode? “America may have its problems, but it’s our home, and if you’re not gonna root for your home team, you might as well get the hell out of the stadium.”
Another thing, Bush has been shown a few times on the show. Normally when Bush appear in a popular cartoon, he is made fun of for his incredible stupidity. Bush has NEVER BEEN MADE FN OF ON SOUTH PARK. They rarely give him lines, and when he does speak, Parker and Stone do not make him say anything stupid. This is implicitly pushing a Republican viewpoint on the audience and makes them believe Bush really isn’t all that bad when it is historical fact that he is hands-down the worst American president ever.
They literally created an entire separate series about Bush called That’s My Bush. This is even mentioned in your own source.
When was that written? I can easily think of a worse President
I’m conflicted: they are hilarious… but aren’t they billionaires? This is such a rare combo, I don’t know what to think. Lemmy, tell me what to think!
They actually earned their money though.
It’s different, when they are fighting for the common good no less. And they’ve been doing so for the most part since after the 00s at least when they still kind of didn’t get how it was going to play out.
If I had to criticize them, it would be they took some wrong takes, but who hasn’t? They did in good faith as I can see.
I thought we had a general consensus that it’s impossible to “earn” a billion dollars.
I mean, they created a wildly popular show that’s been around over 20 years. I can’t think of anything they’ve done otherwise. I’m sure it’s possible to earn a billion dollars, but highly unlikely. If anything, they’re the exception to the rule, I’d say.
Aside from South Park (which includes tons of merchandise, several games, and a movie) they did do a few movies (low forgettable Orgasmo, and cult classics BASEketball and Team America: World Police) and a WILDLY successful Broadway musical The Book of Mormon which won 9 Tony Awards.
The bulk of those earnings like came from South Park in some form or fashion
Yeah you would have a point. Except for the TV and movie industry, which famously has absolutely 0 victims…
Hey that doesn’t sound so true??
Maybe the fact that we like Trey and Matt making fun of people gives them the right to incidentally hurt others. “They earned it because I like it.”
I think this is exactly it, but I feel a moral obligation tugging
You are right on. I think being able to acknowledge the bad parts of people is important.
I like Trey and Matt, but they are not perfect people. If we are all the age we should be on here we shouldn’t have heroes.
The fact they’re billionaires is the ultimate troll towards an administration that tries to censor and financially punish them. It’s a big fuck you.
They worked hard for decades and have talent.
Wow, yes they are billionaires… due to a deal with Paramount+ whom they just made a very public dig at in this name change.

My opinion is, they have to be willing to pay their taxes, and not be worse then your ‘average driver who only cuts people accidentally’ rather than a BMW driver. I would expect them to make some serious self-deprecating digs at being billionaires as well. Also Casa Bonita needs to go International!
(So at least Mark Cuban level of ‘don’t be evil’.)
Even Warren Buffet said something to the effect of, “Just tax me, I’m okay with that!”
There’s this sort of mythos that exists that if you’re a billionaire you’re automatically smarter, more capable and harder-working than everyone else.
It’s a myth, for sure. Most are not working physically harder than the guy scrubbing their excutive toilets, and making money is a very specific skill set. This is especially true for people who have primarily built wealth from investing, and/or came from generational wealth. If you have a lot of money, you either won the lottery, or you are really good at amassing wealth, along with being blessed by favorable circumstances.
I think the billionaires who get this separate themselves from the evil exploitative assholes who only want to ruin the world for profit, while paying 0% taxes. It’s not an ego thing for them. While I still oppose a system that allows people to amass $1 billion of assets, sufficiently taxing the wealthy would be a good start.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen South Park, but aside from their religious stuff, their humour, or attempts thereof, strikes me as either right-wing, lame, or both.
Literally nothing about those two suggests they support Trump or people similar to Charlie kirk
They’re similar to Jimmy Carr. They make a lot of offensive jokes, but at the end of the day, you can tell quite easily where they stand (ie, for other people, not for themselves)… And, there are regularly moments of “clarity” where they demonstrate this.
Whereas, with people like Trump, when they act like they’re joking, there are moments of “clarity” where they slip up, and it becomes clear they aren’t
Right wing?? Where did you get that impression from?
Dude they’re known libertarians. They moderated over time like all semi-rational people when exposed to Trump, but they had early episodes depicting the people tearing down the rainforest as heroes.
they had early episodes depicting the people tearing down the rainforest as heroes.
South Park is satire, and they very often use irony. I feel very rude for pointing that out, but you’ve missed the point entirely if you genuinely do think their intention was to… Depict deforestation as heroic…
I don’t recall those episodes even though I definitely saw them, but that really doesn’t feel like that was the intent of the episode… that would be out of character
edit: to be clear I do mean that it would be out of character to show deforestation as heroic, and that yes it must have been satire
They have a super famous bit with the BP CEO acting like a giant dickhead apologizing for the massive oil spill when Obama was president. It’s some of the most on the nose satire of a corporate apology I’ve ever seen.
that’s the nipple rubbing, right? (among other occasions)
because yeah that shit is on brand. I just don’t see them portraying deforestation as heroic
Have you any media literacy? Or are you basing this off of random clips and hearsay from friends. Because South Park has been well known for taking massive dumps on literally every demographic, and consistently standing by said dumps when people get pissy over being rightfully satirized.
HTMLLoad blocked, here is an archive link.
saint vapeloki. people like you keep others from running JS that they can’t audit
“Skewers”? C’mon, trump probably likes that they did this. Like if you asked him he would probably pick the name himself.
The first set of the new episodes skewering the prez, his press secretary wrote something along the lines of, ‘southpark hasn’t been relevant in forever.’
After they dropped an episode or two, they replied, 'who is relevant now bitch? #eatabagofdicks
Oh I’m sure they make fun of him and others aplenty too in the episodes, but to claim they skewered him by changing the name, I disagree.
After the episodes with Trump’s mushroom pee pee talking and sex scenes with Satan, if Trump likes anything South Park, he’s gotta be demented.
if Trump likes anything South Park, he’s gotta be demented.
Well…
Trump does not have a sense of humor.
Sure he does, his sense of humor just isn’t funny to anybody else that isn’t also a psychopath. I should really say used too. His brain is mush these days.
A MAGAs sense of humor is based on making fun of those different from what people “should” be, based on their narrow and inflexible worldview. In other words, punching down on others.
Conservatives famously don’t have a sense of humour, unless you count laughing at people getting hurt.
Yeah, well, my whole family pretty much, except for me is conservative. This isn’t even sort of true.
Name some artists, musicians, and comedians that are conservative then?
The old school conservative, like my family, is not what we have now. My family has a great sense of humour.
I didn’t say they were old school, just that they have a sense of humor. I’m not going to play this game.
Yeah because my challenge has no answer, because there are almost no artists, comedians, or other such professions by conservatives in the modern era.
This is a long standing thing, how do you not know about this?
Name me a few bro, just one even, and I will show you an unfunny punching down piece of shit douchebag sell out.
Or comprehension skills.
Yup, unless he was told the US in North America he would not get this joke. He would likely assume they were supporting him.
This is really grasping at straws to be that comment.
