I was just calling out the defeatist children on here who like to write despair polemics for each other mocking grassroots activism, collective organizing, and any notion of reform as “liberal” naïveté, elevating instead accelerationism and “what’s really necessary.” Play dumb and they’ll proudly reveal that they mean lone-wolf vigilantism or full-on stochastic terrorism. They gravitate to negative news stories though, and rarely comment on stories like this except to explain how the progress isn’t real or how the fascists will undo it, then complain that no one will do anything about it.

But you’re right. While I am a leftist, never was a big fan of Biden, and think he made some serious blunders with consequences we’re living through now, I despise the current trend of sacrificing truth on the altar of narrative amplification. For example, a criticism I often heard repeated was that the Biden administration was sleeping on judicial appointments (like, decrying his inaction next to Trump’s aggressive judicial capture). It seemed like an easy thing to check, so I did, and it turned out the opposite was true. By the numbers, his administration was uniquely proactive and had obviously made it a priority. But because the hearsay “felt more right” to so many of us, the corrections were often buried, and I still see this “fact” shared in leftist circles to this day. This is not the way.

That plan was approved by the City Council well before her time. This time around it just coincidentally lined up with a surplus in affordable housing funding surplus (weird how the city still has a huge affordable housing issue). Free lunches have been around for a while they’ve just finally been funded for all SPS… For now… Until the funding is gone again.

Very much agree. We’re on the verge of fascism, and I don’t know if we can save this or not, but I sure hope so.

I don’t think I’ll be alive to see it, though.
