Wasn’t sure where to post this. I’ve been thinking about writing an article, but I won’t do that here.

My point is that, think about everything consumer-level AI is doing, and then multiply that by an order of magnitude and give it nukes. This is what armies have right now.

Am I being alarmist? I don’t think so, and if you think about it, that’s pretty fucking terrifying, right? Does *anyone^ disagree?

To be clear, by ‘toddlers’ I don’t mean preople like musk, I mean the AI themselves.

e: sorry, had to post this somewhere

Yeah, I don’t think they give them access to nukes. At leat not yet. That’s a scifi story. And we have lots of scifi stories like that from the 80s and 90s. It didn’t manifest in that form. Though Peter Thiel and Palantir are at it.

Current issue is the human toddlers in the white house waging war everywhere, and supporting other fascist regimes who kill people. And those other regimes themselves, of course.

And next issue: It wasn’t nukes… But we’ve been granting algorithms and big corporations all kinds of power to reshape society. It’s been a thing for about 15 years, I think? And the main reason why half the internet is shit now, half the people believe in some falsehoods, and are doing identity politics instead of something useful.

It’s not the scary nuke you can picture easily… Comes at really bad consequences as well, though.
