My guess - maybe Lemmy got big enough for word of mouth to drive more users to it so we’ll start seeing more people because of that.
Or maybe Russia or other state actors are spinning up a bunch of accounts to have posting history and look more real as they use them to manipulate opinions while the midterms loom in the USA.
Idk. I mean either way this story is depressing. The woman could have just disengaged when the guy weirdly parked his car to try to block the spot, instead she parked right next to him. Guy could have disengaged and not come back and also walked away multiple times while a gun was pointed at him. Both parties are in the wrong here. There were so many opportunities for either of them to stop and de-escalate the situation and now this man is dead and this woman is, presumably, traumatized.
Fighting with strangers is just not worth it, I’ve been in the “both of us wanna park here and got here at the same time” scenario and have resolved it with either accepting I’m walking further or playing a game of rock paper scissors with the other driver.
