Majority of Americans are starting to realize they don’t exist in a democratic system … because their government really doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
They are not beginning to realise anything. There has always been a majority against him, the numbers are basically the same. It is just that the US archaic election system allows a party to completely rule the country based on a minority, because in the US land = votes.
Trump has never had majority support from Americans, so every poll will show that a majority opposes him. It is unfortunately not a sign of the US waking up or political change.
I agree that this is the big issue. I need to see a majority of GOP against him as well as a supermajority if not a consensus of independents to feel like we’ve broken this Trump fever. I also need a supermajority of GOP to be against authoritarianism to believe we broke through the underlying problem with fascism in our system.

It does care what people vote, at least somewhat.
And I bet lots of Americans will fall in line and vote “R” regardless of what they think about what Trump is doing.
