Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, met privately in recent weeks, according to two people familiar with the meeting.
Jeffries and Kushner discussed an array of topics, including possible areas of common ground, the sources said. Although Kushner does not have an official role in the current administration, he has remained deeply involved, especially on issues related to foreign policy, and continues to serve as an outside adviser to the president.
The timing of the talks is striking. The midterms are less than 75 days away and Republicans are facing headwinds in recent polls. Democrats feel cautiously optimistic about their chances of taking the House and Jeffries would be in line to be the next speaker.
Their common ground is trying to stop the DSA and actual progressives making them look bad. It’s an existential threat to their status quo of corruption.
There is no difference between Republicans and Establishment democrats.
Why the hell is Kushner involved in american federal politics?
Because Trump can’t do the blackmailing himself to get Jeffries inline.
Kushner can do whatever the fuck he wants too, he’s not tied to any laws beside Saudia Arabia’s because that’s where he lives.
Anyone with residence outside the USA are not required to follow the law when visiting the USA? So disband ICE because foreigners can do no wrong?
Making leaps there. He’s running the US while not a citizen or under the regulations of international diplomats or anything. He’s just a middle eastern(now) guy that bought trumps daughter.
Did you read your own comment?
Yeah. What issue do you have? He’s been in the middle east for no one knows how long, he’s talking to democratic minority leaders, and is running us foreign policy. He’s running the US from Saudi Arabia, he lives there and he’s no one but a rich boy that made a deal to marry trumps daughter.
I don’t normally check comment history but made an exception for you. I like what I see. One suggestion though, would save time if you deleted your comments before you made them.
Potential areas of common ground
Just sounds like Kushner is trying to buy up public land again
Fuck Jeffries. We have the worst possible most incompetent dem leadership at the most critical time in American history. Jeffries is an absolute piece of shit and will go down in history as one of the major players in the destruction of the U.S. because of how fucking dumb he is.
They’re not incompetent. They’re doing exactly what they’re paid to do. They are liars, frauds, and traitors, but they are paid to do so by the Epstein class.
by the Epstein class.
By corporations. Sure some of them are run by Epsteins clients, but the underlying problem is broader and structural, not moral.
“The Epstein Class” intentionally incorporates those that were Epstein’s clients and those who are merely wealthy enough to be, but may not have been. This is good for several reasons, including the tying of the moral to the structural (as symptom, not cause) and creating pressure and division within that class. It does not suggest a lack of structural failure.
It is correct to call them the Epstein class.I’m not excluding these people, but by relating this to Epstein specifically you are excluding all the corporate corruption that is unrelated to abusing children.
All corporate corruption is related to abusing children.
Always was…

Disagree. Only some corporate corruption is.
Think a bit wider than sexual abuse.
Quite right, which is why I referred to a class, rather than to individuals.
The whole school of corruption needs highlighting. E.g. 2bn of crypto corruption has nothing to do with Epstein, but shouldn’t be overlooked.
We’re using “Eptein class” as a catch all synonym to the oligarch class or really the capitalist class. It avoids reactions to the word capitalist among normies who still consider themselves capitalists. People tend to “just get it.” I think it’s a good slogan for agitprop.
OK, as shorthand.
It’s too stale, male and pale for all cases.
Why did nobody primary him?
This is the fall of the Weimar Republic, part two.
I beg to differ. He is a whole sack of shit
You don’t compromise with a fascist. You can only become compromised by a fascist.
Birds of a feather
You can only
become compromised byshow that you’ve been a fascist the whole time.
A politician chosen for leadership based on fundraising ability finds more common ground with rich assholes across the aisle than with their own voters? Color me shocked.
Look, he’s not supporting Medicare for all or universal healthcare, but he’s willing to start conversations about planning conversations about concepts of a plan to improve healthcare for undefined people, what more do you people want
Wow, he is doing a lot of things.
Translation: The think tanks haven’t told me how to push back against what all my voters want yet.
I wouldn’t call Matt Yglesias a tank or accuse him of having thoughts.
Nobody wants Jefferies as speaker. So once again it’s a bag of shit the only difference is it has a ribbon on it. America is fucked.
“Look, we both butter our bread at Epstein’s table. Let’s make a final decision to publicly support the Israeli genocidal state and only support the Saudi genocidal state on the down-low.”

Money and corruption run strong in both cases. I’m not sure why they had to pretend like they met about other things.
Jefferies sucks.
The fact that they are both loyal to Israel first and foremost?
Let me guess, their common ground were bank accounts…
If you have common ground with a Nazi you’re a Nazi.
Common criminal goals?
