How many would support the oligarchs building things that will be built “somewhere else” and as long as it only steals other people’s jobs, I wonder?
Which is why the oligarchs always make sure their corporate media runs articles about how stuff like this disproportionally affects minorities, to make it seem like a problem of the others and not them.
Problem is that usually the majority needs to get something out of things like this for that to work properly, IE who cares if they demolished black neighborhoods to build the freeway we got a freeway of out of it. That’s not happening with data centers, nobody gets anything out of them including the oligarchs since this shit is just a resource sink and one that may get them killed at this rate.
“Here, have this new building that adds almost negligible jobs to the local economy, noisy if you live close by, may cause major power outages & you can’t shut it off. Also, you may run out of drinking water / have your local water source polluted thanks to said building”
But think of the kickbacks we get! I bet the mayor got a butt load of money. He’ll be sharing that cash awith the residents aaaaaaany day now…
