People often forget, the first LLMs were trained on a scrape of most surface sites; this includes places like 4chan and ED.
To suggest LLMs are racist is to over-personify. To suggest an LLM’s outputs amplify the views of such sites however…
It’s like saying the kid spouting racist remarks isn’t racist, it was just raised by racist parents.
They do deserve some of the hate for spouting racist remarks.
