I think I’m joining the ranks of people who have become radicalised against the mainstream media.

What’s done it for me has been the reporting on the climate breakdown this summer. Most of the main ‘respectable’ news outlets have acknowledged the role of climate change but I haven’t seen any of them talking about the reality of addressing it and what that means for class structure and the wholesale redirection of productive output. The people who own, run and staff these outlets are the ones who will have their private consumption reduced if Zack Polanski’s policy platform of action on climate change and inequality is implemented, and he is therefore the enemy of them and their class. Because what he stands for also represents the interests of normal people like us, that means we are also their enemy.

When you understand what is at stake with the climate it’s impossible not to see this class war as literally a fight for survival.

This will be dressed up as an opinion piece.

We’re just interviewing people and expressing their opinions.

He’s free to sue them of course, but I think he knows it will go nowhere.
