    with both the builders and the local charity that owns the site having a chance of claiming it.

    Did i miss some kind of rule that states, that a builder can keep what they find on foreign property, aside from a finders reward?

      If no one comes forward, civil law states that hidden treasure on someone else’s property be divided between the finder and the property’s owner.

      This only applies, though, if the stash is not found to be linked to criminal activity.

      The key thing here is that the gold is not the property of the charity, but some previous owner. It wasn’t part of any purchase deed.
