There’s a separate thread for the Senate elections, because that’s far, far easier to track than the House races and the Gubernatorial races.

Consider this thread open to everything else! House, Governor, state and local measures, everything else!

Polls start closing at 7 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific. My plan is to be obsessively posting results as they come in.

Current standings:

US House of Representatives:
Republicans: 218
Democrats: 214
Vacant: 2
Independent: 1

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX23) resigned 04/14/2026.

Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL20) resigned 04/21/26.

Rep. Kevin Kiley (CA3) flipped from R to I in March, 2026.

Every seat is up for re-election with 218 necessary for a majority.

Governors:

26 Republicans
24 Democrats

There are 36 seats to be decided this election, 19 of which are open races, meaning no incumbent is defending.

It’s crazy that Oregon is even close. Generally one of the most left-leaning states in my experience, I wish I understood what was going on.

Edit / 2: here’s the line I found from your second link (thanks!):

The biggest issues on voters’ minds, the poll found, are overall affordability (87%) followed by K–12 education (85%) and housing affordability (78%). Although the debate raging over data centers has generated a lot of headlines and heat lately, only 50% of respondents said the issue was “extremely/very” important to them, making it far less of an issue than taxes (77%), homelessness (77%) or crime (73%).

Considering that Trump is almost entirely responsible for the nationwide affordability issues via tariffs and wars, what a self-own if voters take this out on Kotek. Also, housing affordability and education are important, yes, but totally irrational to elect someone who self-identifies as GOP in 2026 and expect them to do anything to help. I hope voters find some sense.
