This is our government at the absolute top of their incompetence.
Denmark closed all mink farms at great cost a couple of years ago, because they were a COVID hazard.
Then it was practically decided that Mink farming was finished in Denmark, until last year when some farmers wanted to start up again, and the government for some weird reason seemed to support it, maybe out of sympathy for mink farmers that had lost their “life work”. That was IMO the top idiocy.
But at least we are now back to making sense again. Mink farming is NOT a morally defensible business on so many levels.I thought we were the last country to have Mink farming in EU, but unfortunately Poland still has it:
But this has been the biggest scandal I think of a decade here in Denmark. So I guess you can imagine that although our politicians make mistakes like everywhere else. We are fortunate that it isn’t worse.I thought we were the last country to have Mink farming in EU, but unfortunately Poland still has it:
IIRC the ban in the Netherlands was triggered by the ban in Denmark, so we’ve got you to thank for that.
Well in the end we ended up doing the same. So not all bad. A typical fuck up here, they are rarely all bad.
The hundreds of millions of tax payer money paid in compensation to the those pieces of shit mink farmers after the COVID closures, just because the government made a completely preventable legal error before acting is the real fiasco of this whole affair.
