In februari it will have lasted as long as ww2
I believe you mean The Great Patriotic War, comrade
Username checks out ;)
No, the 3-day invasion from Russia started 24th of February 2022 so it will be 5 years in February 2027.
Germany invaded Poland 1st of September 1939 and it lasted until Japan signed the documents of their surrender 2nd of September 1945.
Germany didn’t attack Russia until June of 1941, so for the Russians WWII is shorter
Not necessarily true, if you consider Khalkhin Gol it could be said the Russians were fighting Japan, off the books as it were, being the first after China. Even if it was temporary.
And don’t forget that the Soviets invaded Poland and Finland in 1939, even if they failed to take Finland. And the 1940 invasions of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Romania.
How long until its lasted as long as the failed illegal invasion of Iraq?
Failed? Iraq was the only successful invasion. The US friendly puppet government is still in power today.
Now if you think the war was actually to end “terrorism” I can see how you would think that, but it was all about removing unfriendly governments to ensure the flow of oil.
If you said Afghanistan you’d have been right

That is certainly one way to state your agreement
If we’re to include the low intensity part of the Russo-Ukrainian war to the low intensity part of the Second Gulf War, it’s already passed that. The second Gulf War lasted from 2003 to 2011 (8 years) and the Russo-Ukrainian war has lasted from 2014 to present (12 years)

Didn’t they literally say they included that part?

Source on a high up in the Russian military saying it would be 3 days?

“That is not the question,” Putin reportedly said. “But if I wanted to, I could take Kiev in two weeks.”
Not three days, but two weeks have also long passed, no?

You want a source for something I haven’t stated? 😅
His buddy Lukashenko was convinced that it takes only 3-4 days. That’s what I’m quoting. https://x.com/nexta_tv/status/1498185064617762816
Lol
a high up in the Russian military
Why this specifically? Oh, right, because the narrative actually was widely peddled by Russian propaganda and its closest ally Belarus/Lukashenko: https://x.com/nexta_tv/status/1498185064617762816 (“3-4 days at most”)
So you have to raise the standards in order to save Russian propaganda from its own arrogance and delusions. Nice try, but no.

Sadly, a whole bunch of people who’ve eaten up Russian propaganda do give a fuck.

I guess Belarus indeed is to the west of Russia…

If we gave you one you wouldn’t accept it anyway so crawl back to your .ml hole
Sure I would, I love facts and sources! Hit me!
Let’s test it out. If you are genuinely interested in an answer to “where did the idea of a 3-day special military operation come from?”, here are some facts and sources. I suspect you put those qualifiers in there so you can dismiss them but let’s find out.
There’s a few along those lines.
- 3 days, and official: a report of victory from state-run media about the conquest of Ukraine, released on 26 feb 2022 (and then quickly removed): https://www.newsweek.com/state-run-russian-news-site-accidentally-declares-ukraines-defeat-1683455
- not Russia but Russian ally Lukashenko: https://x.com/nexta_tv/status/1498185064617762816
- not 3 days but a massive underestimate from Putin: https://time.com/3259699/putin-boast-kiev-2-weeks/

Username doesn’t check out
If you think asking for a source is confrontational I don’t think you’re going to enjoy your time here on the internet, lol.
Fine, Russia themselves didn’t say 3 days it was a intelligence report. Your point is made.
However, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was quoted as saying it would last “until 2025”, and that wasn’t until about 18 months into the invasion. It’s well past that. The point that they haven’t completed their invasion even in their own quoted timeline still stands.
