Have you seen those robot dogs replacing security guards, self-driving cars replacing human drivers, or the level of automation reported in Chinese car factories? Even warfare has changed, largely automating the once manual job of murdering your neighbors.

But that aside, even if manual labor still exists in this future automation dystopia, if it’s all that’s left, the economy will still shrink considerably.
