It will be different when they‘re forced to socialize IRL. Because now all the other kids are not online 24/7 either. This supposed problem is solving itself. I‘m a little more concerned about their lack of experience with the medium once they‘re allowed to use it. Then again a lot of them will use it anyway but even less supervised than before.
Ha. That reminds of the time when my parents kept pestering me about sitting at the computer all day. Once they asked why do I “refuse” to go out with my mates. I replied with “why would I want to go out with people who bully me, when I can sit in IRC and talk to people who actually like me?” That shut them up for good about the topic lol

You clearly haven’t grown up in a small, rural area where you have nobody IRL to socialize with.
Or in a situation where socializing with kids your age mostly meant being bullied.

Thank god cyberbullying isn‘t a thing because you can always walk away from your phone and spend time with your many offline friends! /s
