Several Finnish lawmakers have said someone entered their homes while they were away, Yle reported.
The incidents took place over the past year. Nothing was stolen during the suspected intrusions, but lawmakers reported noticeable signs that someone had been there — for example, doors left open or lights turned on. Parliament Speaker Jussi Halla-aho said this may have been deliberate.
The exact number of lawmakers affected has not been reported, but Yle puts it at “fewer than 20.” Halla-aho said they did not belong to the same party or share any other common characteristics.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said foreign actors could be behind the incidents. “If someone is trying to destabilize Finland, undermine our sense of security, or weaken our support for Ukraine, for example, it has the opposite effect,” he said.
Orpo also said Russia had previously tried to interfere in European elections. Finland’s next parliamentary election will be held in April 2027.

If that’s the case then the security process has already failed. And also, if the intent was to either access data or plant a listening devices I’d assume that the intruder would make sure to leave no traces behind.
No security process is enough for morons who eat crayons and need a helmet indoors. Also, up to 20 burglaries later no one has been caught. I mean they entered apartments that may have cameras. 1 is doable, 5 is hollywood stuff but 20 is impossible.
They are over pretty long time period. One of our representatives I happen to know personally had all kinds of nosy people around his yard after getting elected, on a pretty rural area. Some people apparently just get something out of peeping in a parliament members living room.
I’m not saying it’s impossible that there was some malicious intent on these break-ins but what’s available on public news just doesn’t feel like hybrid operation from the east.
