It “works” the same way you can eat fast food to prevent starvation since you do get calories from it. But you essentially do damage to yourself long term and slowly kill yourself.
In moderation it can work, but just like fast food, it’s always better to eat less, ideally 0 amount.
It might be worth it if you don’t have any other option, but not having any other option is a bigger failing on overall planning.
If you consume lots of it then you do tolerate it more than those who abstain themselves; whom totally feel sick when they consume any of it.
At the end of the day, it would never be considered quality or good, but just like fast food, our cooperate overlords will try to get us to use it as much as possible.
I just hope this means that similarly, those who respect their mind/body can easily live their life and avoid it.
The only difference I can think of is that fast food is profitable, which is pretty hilarious.
So, back to the title, imagine living in a world where a significant chunk of the population think McDonald’s is somehow better than home cooked meals. That’s where we are at atm.

It’s honestly very hard to make a home cooked meal that isn’t healthier than fast food. Any pasta with sauce, mac and cheese, rice and beans, random salad will be miles better for you than fast food.
I’m also confused by your social media statement. Like, yeah, sure, people that post food do it because what they are posting is in some ways out of the ordinary… that doesn’t mean most people’s cooking is like that
It’s not harder if you’re using fresh ingredients however a frozen lasagna or chicken tenders in the air fryer are not always better. There are a lot of processed food options that are not exactly the beacon of healthy eating.
