If the number of single white males abusing the system is miniscule, doesn’t that imply that the numbers from smaller demographic groups are even lower? Is there a problem or isn’t there, you can’t have it both ways.

I understand that millions of dollars are being wasted going after a “miniscule” number of abusive recipients, and that it’s dumb to do so when the money could be better spent elsewhere.
The biggest welfare recipients are wealthy white guys. Remember when Brett Farve directed $5mil to his daughter’s school and then got another million for speaking fees from public funds?
And that’s nothing compared to how much we subsidize billionaires and their corporations. Hell, Wal-Mart, an Arkansas based company, directs their employees to sign up for Medicaid instead of paying a living wage despite the Walton family having a net worth over $500 billion.
Brad exists. He drives a Cadillac and uses his food stamps to buy steak and lobster. All while popping out kids he can’t support and listens to the rap music.
Brad uses welfare to pay for a refrigerator and a phone with your money, and watches The Price is Right all day long, laughing in a carefree manner. Brad is why you can’t get a 9 AM Saturday tee time, and is also why your kids won’t speak to you. Brad has access to unlimited viagra, with none of the side effects listed during the Fox Friends commercial break, and a full head of hair, thanks to the welfare state.
I’d rather my tax dollars pay for Brad to be lazy than to pay for missiles that kill the innocent. I’d rather my tax dollars go to funding education and health care than either of those, too.
Brad is going to get his settlement check one of these days.
I have spent enough time in a very poor town to know that they just don’t see this in each other. They all hide their SNAP like they hide their drinking from people at church. They don’t pick up on the “learned poverty” shit that they do which is exactly the kind of stuff they identify in the “ghetto.”
It’s all the same kind of, always having to pick from a bunch of bad choices, not having a good education, sometimes feeling culturally bound to bad habits, etc. The biggest difference as far as I can tell is that they defend and even embrace the conditions as something their father and his father and his father perfected and bestowed upon them, whereas in the hood people are still rightfully angry about being asked to integrate with their oppressors.
