Before starting my record attempt between Kemijärvi, Finland and Lagos, Portugal, people told me over and over it would break down in Germany. So much so that I even tried to re-but (pre-but?) some of the likely critique.

Heres my personal anecdote:
Two years ago i depended on the DB to get to work and entire months(!) went by without a single day where everything went according to plan. For important days i started my journey an hour earlier and still got fucked by the DB some times.
He is a German who lived in Germany for years and does EU wide railway advocacy.
