I though the same but, tbh, cash can be similarly exploited (people can steal your wallet) but at least your phone has a passcode on it. Maybe there are other, unique ways for this to be explained that cash wouldn’t have that I’ve not thought about.

And the digital euro wallet will have a maximum amount as a limit, so it’s not like people can lose all their life savings.
I fear you are overestimating the live savings of many people
