Some Republicans are growing worried that two key Senate races once considered critical to holding their majority are slipping from their grasp.
In more than a dozen interviews with campaign officials, senators and operatives, there is recognition that North Carolina and Georgia are looking less competitive than the party once anticipated and that decisions need to be made soon about whether to keep investing, even as party officials insist they are not walking away from their candidates there.

The NCDNC has no fight in them. I live in Tim Moore’s district and they have not done anything to support his opponent. That little shit goblin could be pushed out but Womack gets nothing. I don’t even know how she is running. The NCDNC gave up any fight when Heath Shular stepped aside for Mark Meadows. If it is not an easy seat the DNC just throws up their hands and cries oh well.
I feel like people are realizing if the dems aren’t taking this seriously they can just run their own candidate and force them onto the dems. Didn’t Georgia do something like that?
In Florida, Angi Dixon is neck & neck with her MAGA opponent. MAGA is trying to position her as a Commie, because she joined the DSA. But the only reason she joined the DSA is because the DNC wouldn’t support her in the primary, and the DSA would. She didn’t like all of their positions, but they overlapped with her priorities, so she went with them, and then WON her primary.
Now MAGA is savaging her as a Commie, saying “She actually signed up for this!” But she’s not really a DemSoc, she just accepted their help in the primary because the Dems wouldn’t.
It doesn’t matter anyway, Florida elections are fully rigged. Even if she gets more votes, Florida MAGAs will challenge enough votes in Democratic counties, and toss them out, until they have a fraction of a lead, and then call the race for the MAGA. That’s how DeSantis and Scott got elected by a sliver of a fraction of a point. Florida’s elections need to be heavily investigated.

We live near Western NC, and this area was hit hard by the hurricane two years ago, and is still trying to rebuild.
Trump was there a couple of weeks ago threatening to not provide the rest of the Fema funding they’re expecting if his candidate didn’t get elected in the mid term. Even for the level of backwoods chud that would still show up at a Trump event, they weren’t happy with that.

Georgia is a (decreasingly) Republican state, but not a MAGA state. The governor, who prominently refused to go along with Trump’s 2020 election lies, got primaried by a Trump-nut, who lost like 3-1. The GOP candidate for Senate is one of the Trumpiest politicians in Georgia (now that MTG jumped ship). I’d really like to think this could be one of the last battles in the GOP civil war., but going all-in on Trump in Georgia was definitely a bad plan, even before the leopard started eating their faces.
Not to mention, the Democratic candidate is the incumbent! Georgia is a supposedly “red state” but both Senators are blue (which basically saved the entire Senate in 2020 – y’all’re welcome).

Fun history of Georgia: as recently as 1998, Georgia elected a Democratic governor, and Democrats regularly won state-wide offices. In the wake of the 2000 fiasco, when everyone suddenly went to electronic ballots, Georgia chose a system with no paper trail, and no Democrat won a state-wide race for nearly 2 decades. Then, in 2020, they changed voting systems to one that includes a paper trail, and Democrats immediately won both Senate seats. The Republicans have never won a Georgia Senate race that included paper records.

For the non- Carolinians: We have a good-enough governor right now (Stein) and our AG is great. The AG (Jeff Jackson) actually stepped down from his congressional seat to run for AG, and got it.
Unfortunately, Stein has been stripped of many of his powers by the legislature, making him one of the weakest governors.
