Wrong, a typical American voter only votes based on their pocketbook and their desire for immediate gratification. Most don’t care whether you champion social justice, just as long as they have their cheap consumer goods and distractions. Americans want leaders who support affordable first-world consumption habits. They only want to deal with first world problems. So it never hurts to champion social justice.
