Absolutely mental 😅 One person can veto the progress of a nation, or rather a group of nations.

Part of his (insane) rationale for blocking this cheap and beneficial EU funding for Poland is that this guy and his party do not want Germany to benefit from arm sales…

This is strange to me from various angles; First of all, the cheap EU funding is possible because of strong economies backing it (read Germany is enabling that). Secondly Germany has been a strong contributor to the EU for decades, which has helped Poland rise (beneficiary). Thirdly, Germany is your neighbour/close by, enabling close collaboration and creating jobs with this funding together. What benefits Germany, benefits surrounding nations… Fourthly, Germany has done nothing wrong here. Fifth, the alternative is the US who has proven an unreliable partner, and is keen on ensuring themselves will benefit greatly as to force nations to adhere to their needs. Sixth…

I guess by now you get the point. This is not rational at all. This guy has been bought.

The right wing has been trying to sow a divide between Poland and Germany for a long time now. It’s all Putin- divide et impera. ALL right wing populist parties across Europe are in the pockets of Putin, he’s been funding them for decades, they’ve been caught red handed time and again, it’s been massive scandals and then poof man whistling walking away with his hands in his pockets pretending it’s raining and we end up with OBVIOUS fucking correct geopolitical moves being thwarted by these little Trump clones all over.

I’m so tired of no one talking about the OBVIOUS interference Putin is running in Europe, like we know he’s doing it, we have proof, everyone knows it, yet we pretend like everything is ok and we don’t maneuver around that fact in how we run our societies, it’s like I’m taking crazy pills! Is everyone literally asleep?!

Its getting slightly better over recent years though. Russians, Ukrainians, Jews and Roma are less liked/more hated for example :)

Well, I am not a German but I get the historical context. However this is 80+ years ago. This is a new generation. Maybe it’s time to stop looking in the rear view mirror, and look to the future…

        This is so irrational.

Well, OTOH there’s still Germans who feel the same as their grandparents were displaced and disowned and they feel entitled to compensation. I can only imagine how the story goes if it’s not about “just” displacing and disowning but massacring your grandparents ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

        I’m not surprised 😅

Germany should probably just give them the arms instead of a loan to buy it…
