LiveThreadBot@sopuli.xyz did provide live scores for me during the FIFA World Cup. I did try to come out and comment on a couple threads. So a score of 1.1 out of 2 on this criteria?

Basically what Sawant is saying:
Uh oh… Mamdani’s endorsement of Jeffries totally means he’s in bed with AIPAC, Netanyahu and the IDF. Time to base our entire opinion of Mamdani on this single unproven link, forget every other policy position he holds or has ever held, cut all ties and disappear into irrelevance…

I use Threadiverse to mean Lemmy Piefed Kbin and similar part of the Fediverse, nothing to do with Meta. I selected this terminology to differentiate it from microblogging platforms like Mastodon, though they are absolutely welcome to participate by posting to Lemmy and Piefed communities. With character limits and other structural design differences I suppose it is just a harder challenge. If you have suggestions for another name to describe topic-based online socializing I’m all ears.
Through the 10th proposed category, I’m hoping to make people aware of that connection to the wider Fediverse with links to Masto, PeerTube etc.
Threadtember is a neat name, I’ll see what catches on. Good luck with the move (and the challenge).
My first draft of the 10 categories:
Feedback welcome.
Update: Reception seems good. I’ll post something shortly here and on my home instance.

This man’s brain has probably melted into slop à-l’-AI.

Hooray, more criminals in the criminal government! Just what we all needed!

If Northern KC Metro votes blue hard enough, this plan totally could blow up in Republicans’ faces and hand districts 5 and 6 to Democrats. 2 and 3 don’t seem out of the question either. Hopefully the national apparatus pays attention and puts effort in these kinds of races too.
These maps were indeed drawn assuming Trump would make things affordable and not start endless foreign wars 😅

I think you and the person you replied to are both at the core making the same point, even if from different initial states. To quote the previous:
The only way to strip that capability away from them is to rip out the incumbents IN THE PRIMARIES all the way down to where you live. And the way you do that is:
You DON’T just vote in the national scale elections; rather, you instead vote in EVERY LOCAL ELECTION TOO

Looking from the outside, if AOC can become the Democratic nominee for 2028 president, I’d believe the USA has a chance to recover from the Trump disease. She would be one who could show how leftwing policy can produce results like Presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum. The USA needs more than business-as-usual politics. Even if AOC is president there will be a multitude of forces to fight against including Israel, Russia, billionaires and the Epstein class and the fact that fully rebuilding a competent government from gutted ruins will take a bit of time. If a plurality of voters pick fascism again over a woman as president, I will genuinely start believing the USA isn’t worth saving at that point.
This year’s midterms will be a good barometer to see how progressive Dems perform in swing states (Maine, Michigan etc.) that can help determine how much of a chance she would have.
There are a solid number of issues that AOC can immediately get certain segments of Republicans onside without compromising her positions at all: one would be to promise to release every file collected in the Epstein case, within the first month of entering office.
The step before that is a Dem primary but the current slate of prospectives really aren’t all that compelling.

As JFK totally said: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what bullshit your country’s government can make up to screw you over and stroke its own ego.”

Cost breakdown:

The type and the scale of information being collected on people is the problem, not the retention window.
And no matter how much Mr. Langley wants to spin that the surveillance system only creates “leads” that are supposedly checked and acted upon by officers, look at how military surveillance systems like Lavender, which essentially was used as an excuse generator for why the IDF should bomb a person. Cops’ behaviour with Flock to date already shows that they don’t check their AI-generated leads first.
Thanks. Many hours later I’ve thought of better tweaks to it, like putting the meal into a blender and having it as a smoothie, but I didn’t feel like editing it since enough people had already seen it.
Going out of their way to disseminate creators’ art in the specific way they have asked not to, then to go and gloat about it is peak disrespectful jerk behaviour, and seems commonplace among the pro-AI crowd.
To give an analogy, if someone cooked a noodle dish, shared it with the public and asked people to use a fork or chopsticks, it would be one thing for you to take some home and eat it with your hands on your own. Weird but whatever. But to go and post online about them eating with their hands or another way, mocking the wishes of the creator for any reason other than disability accommodation, that’s not illegal but it is hella disrespectful and hurtful.
I’m not entirely certain. What I have tried is ordering custom massive hot balls of plasma in space for everyone, but I’ve learned the waitlist is a few billion years long.
