I tried amule and it is technically better than soulseek but the client is not as friendly.
This one particularly is pretty sketchy where bold and colour define if it is shared or not. I’m currently not certain if I’m sharing my root dir recursively or not, I’ll come back once they’ve improved it.

You must have never tried irc in conjunction with Convos or The Lounge
Edit: Fluxer is a usable alternative https://fluxer.app/

ATProtocol where you host the data but have no control of it.

Cool what client would you recommend?
It’s a bit suspicious to recommend two protocols as I question if you use it yourself or just looked it up.

It’s more like (old) Facebook where you make your media folder available to download, add buddies so you can check out their library later, thank them using the in built chat.
Just use a vpn with a port. And don’t add identifiable stuff to share.

SoulSeek? Its like old limewire; dangerous and also full of really kind people too.
Nicotine+ is a client.
I think a combination of Soulseek and bittorrent, so you can share your library in the file structure you want, then collectively seed files with the same hash.

Two things can be bad at the same time: Teams, Matrix both are terrible imo

Didn’t Labour replace union lobby with private capital years ago?

It’s amazing how similar this sounds like 100 years ago. Or how similar it is to every pro austerity politician ever.

BRICKS multiculturalism, you torture your people, we do it our own way, we are lost.

It’s a double edged sword you’re waving. For example while gay acceptance has dropped in the last decade, the major opponents to immigration are happy to collude with white-power hate groups.

The means of production was it? Mao would be rolling in his grave.
early 2024, mass worker strikes erupted in the company’s factories in Wuxi and Chengdu, China. Thousands protested pay cuts and reduced benefits following BYD’s acquisition of Green Point, a manufacturing firm previously owned by Jabil. Despite promises to maintain existing wages and benefits for 18 months, BYD implemented a five-day, 8-hour work schedule in early 2024, causing workers’ monthly income to plummet from 5,000–6,800 yuan to as low as 3,000–4,000 yuan—barely above China’s minimum wage. As many rely on overtime to survive, workers allege that the move was a tactic to push them to resign voluntarily and avoid severance payouts.
The strikes quickly spread from Wuxi to Chengdu. Chinese authorities responded with a heavy hand: police detained some protesters, reflecting the harsh reality of labour rights activism in mainland China. Although BYD attempted to placate workers with holiday overtime compensation, unrest continues to simmer across its facilities.
We need to collectively send reports to Codeberg and de platform slop, these tech bros have the gall to use Codeberg actions and hide their issues behind a third party.
More operations -> Report content -> Other violations of platform rules
haha yeah editing still isn’t a thing in irc but image upload, replies and voice/video (convos uses jitsi) are, totally understandable if those are roadblocks.
Libera is probably your best best for IRCv3 so yeah there is a reason the industry moved to xmpp (LoL Facebook Nintendo Zoom).
