In a lot of the online discourse about this people seem to be missing the point alcohol isn’t banned in stadiums, people can and do drink as much as they want already, you’re just not allowed to drink within view of the pitch. If anything the current law is encouraging people to binge drink before the game and at half time. Problem drinkers will still be problem drinkers either way. The biggest scourge I’ve witnessed is the insane amount of people doing coke in the toilets. There needs to be more enforcement of that to prevent coked up meatheads rampaging around.
