The original images are gone? How did that happen?
If not, and we are still in consent that copying is not stealing… well, then the more fitting analog would be that it is terribly easy to make a photo of your car

I cannot see a way in which you can make “give people who demand something money so that they go away” illegal…

Honestly, thank you for this clarification of your standpoint. I think it is in the best interest of both our blood pressure and the discussion climate in this community if we disengage our communication at this point - as neither of us will be able to convince the other of our viewpoints.
In this spirit i wish you a nice day.

Aren’t you the one simping for and whitewashing the Bundeswehr in the other thread?
If not utterly condemning the Bundeswehr and highlighting positive things where they are is “simping” for you - yep, that’s me!
Is that the nature of your account now, is that what we can expect from you in the future?
Yep, feel free to block me if you don’t want to see opinions conflicting with your own.
The qualitative difference now is, that Germany strives to be THE military power of Europe again, with other countries following their lead
This is - at best - a half-truth. Germany is the biggest economy in Europe, it is only natural that it has to shoulder a big part of the European defence. Even with a massive rearmament to reduce the impact of the decreasing US military presence - which is happening all over Europe, mind you - Germany’s role is to be a part in a defensive alliance. If you see any ambition to conquer “Lebensraum” in the east, please feel free to share the evidence.

Absolutely normal.
It is absolutely normal if one is not completely fixated on second world war. And the “last time” Germany had an significant military was not in the 30s and 40s… it was in the 80s, with strong ties to NATO and firmly on the ground of the German constitution.

They may not value an injured person more than a plane… but they value one thing: Votes.
You can bet that the moment a civilian person is only slightly injured during an attempt to shoot down a drone the Bild “newspaper” and hordes of bots (either the electronic or of the meat kind) will curbstomp the politicians who are responsible.
Well… about 20 years ago it was not THAT uncommon for nerdy / techy people to put a small Linux powered PC into their car for all sort of things. I personally had a system build around a passive cooled Transmeta Crusoe based board running on some Suse Linux sitting under the passenger seat of my Escort Mk 4 back then…
I think with a Raspberry Pi or similar system you could build something very interesting today with a much better user experience

I don’t hate Wayland, but I don’t like it either. I just grew up with xorg and I know how to use the tooling around it intuitively and really like some of its features. For me personally there is simply no reason to move away.

Good… good… it’s better if it’s already working when the need for expropriation arises…

It’s merely accelerated by them. The Nazis never left Germany but lay more or less dormant until their… ehm… “Lebensraum” proved to be fertile again. Would they be that strong without outside help? Perhaps not, but they would have reappeared nonetheless.
I think “matching geopolitical interests” is a better fitting reason.
