Temporarily closing residential streets to allow kids to play and socialise safely outside has proved beneficial for both children and adults.

“closing down streets” in the headline feels like some pro-car propaganda. The streets are actually more open now: you can walk or cycle anywhere you want, without being threatened by 2-ton steel boxes going at terrifying speeds with poorly trained humans in control, which we somehow decided everyone should use to get around.
Honestly it’s a great opportunity to help build that community, social skills, and cleaner environment for kids who shouldN’T be inside on an iPad… Sending Positive vibes****
Back in my day, we closed the road, not the city LOL
