    I understand you think that’s a distinction, I consider it one without much difference. If Repubs refuse to check him, then there are no checks on his power.

      That’s not how a system works. If I get on the freeway and rear end another car it’s not because my car doesn’t have brakes. My car does, but I just didn’t use them.

      It’s very important to understand that congress could stop this at any moment. They have the power to do so. The check is still there. However the majority supports all of this.

        If the check is not used, it doesn’t matter whether it’s there or not. The republicans inaction can be simply explained via oligarchy or plutocracy and the wealth divide.

          Isn’t the simplest explanation that these representatives agree with the actions? No need to overly complicate it.
