“We used to have the village noticeboard, but as things have changed we no longer have that local connection”

Can we just have that back instead? We could literally communicate about our own neighbourhood, within our own neighbourhood. We don’t need to include an American surveillance company.

This article reads more like an advert / marketing piece than journalism worth a damn. Very little critique and critical thinking. Just explanation, near verbatim from Amazon, of what is being released.

    Who are you watching
And what are you watching them for
    The signs on your lampposts
Say more about you than the crimes you abhor

    Your curtains twitch
    Spy on the neighbourhood witch
    It’s all a front
    For a neighbourhood witch hunt

    Watching the neighbours
Or are the neighbours watching you
    It starts with surveillance
    Until they turn informer too

There was a bloke in our street I called Neighbourhood Watch. He once asked me why my bedroom light was on so late on one particular night. He was also obsessed with when everyone put their bins out and brought them in. He would have loved an app for nosey-parkering.
