New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, a billionaire with a long history of donating to pro-Israel causes, took credit for blackballing Macklemore on Monday, describing the rapper’s Palestine tributes as “hate speech.”
It’s rich that a billionaire gets to lecture others about morality considering that there are no ethical billionaires.

That said, a quick browse through social media reveals posts about Sheeran outnumbering posts about Kraft like 10:1.
It’s clear where the court of public opinion is headed here…Sheeran is moving farther out into “unlikeable” territory than he did when he appeared in Westeros…and peoples opinion of Kraft has barely budged.
Ipso facto, Sheeran is taking the brunt of it, and I feel that’s a bit undeserved. All he did wrong was prioritize “saving the tour” over “saving face”, and failed at both (and of course “saving Palestinians”…but let’s be real here…ultimately a lot more people are talking about Sheeran than they are the Palestinians).
The way i look at it, is that Robert Kraft, by being a billionaire, already earned his status as one against the people, whether the people pay attention to it or not.
But this is how a movement can build by solidarity. We set our lines in the sand and if you cross it you’re ousted like Sheeran, sending a message not to side with the likes of Kraft. I’m ok with the 10:1 posts because as soon as i heard Kraft was involved i immediately said, of course he fucking was he’s on the other side of that line already.
Sheeran is now in a position where he has another choice to make, double down on being apolitical, or apologize and instead stand with Macklemore.
I’m sure he’ll try and continue doing both though. It’s always both.
We’re not far off from seizing assets of billionaires…
And the easiest place to get people to start, is the sports stadiums people already paid for.
It would drastically drive down not just ticket prices but also everything inside. Everyone would get on board for that, and when it works, people will be open to more.
Is it guaranteed? Obviously not
But what the fuck is the point of making this about an aging popstar?
If he never played another concert what would that actually solve?
No one is blaming him, we’re calling him a cowardly, unethical, greedy little birch. He could have taken a small financial hit that would have come back and rewarded him with huge public support by simply saying “I don’t agree with or support this decision”, and fingers could then only be pointed at Kraft.
He decided the money is worth pointing the fingers directly at him, he deserves the attention he’s getting. It’s crazy that you think we should let it slide.
