Donnie dumbass went the exact wrong direction on that. Probably because a whole lot of republicons had to politicize everything about the pandemic, including working from home.
Many of them running companies acted like people were just being pussies and/or bad employees for not being resistant to foolish RTO orders. After many years of working from home put the lie to the idea that WFH couldn’t work. It turns out it worked very well. But shitty managers are extreme narcissists and want to have their minions visible and subject to stupid whims that are only really possible when you are in-person. If someone recently created/leased new office space, they are all the more idiotic about it.
Oh, and then conservative idiots wanted to apply this RTO stuff to government work. Of fucking course. Sure, let’s burn up more energy in useless commuting.
A shitload of us don’t have the kind of job that can be done from home. But yeah, I like the idea where it is feasible. We would still benefit since it’d mean less traffic for those of us who would still have to commute.
Reduce demand- just issue an executive order requiring employers to allow work from home. 😂

True but you’d get where you need to go more efficiently with less people on the road.
Yes, that’s what the last sentence of my comment was saying.
The executive order would only apply to federal government workers.
