“The current methods being used by your agencies, including helicopter roundups, are inhumane and unnecessary,” Gov. Jared Polis and four congressional representatives wrote in a letter this month.
Put trump in prison already. Fuck.
Animal cruelty is not justified, even if we’ve created the problem.
This was in Project 2025.
You will eat wild horses and be happy!

Removing the horses from Colorado was in project 2025?!

Wowwwwww
Wtf are they doing?
The cheap meat Donnie promised has to come from somewhere.
If I see any purple meat anywhere I’m not eating it and I’m never going back to that business.
What are we even doing? The horse is a key icon tied to southern and cowboy culture - and they want to just chop them up? Most people here don’t want to eat an animal that’s as close a friend as dogs.
It was more of a joke. The official reason they state is population control I think. But it was announced awfully close to the beef import thing and people just immediately associated them.
It’s very shady timing imo. Especially if they sell the meat outside of the US for processing, then it makes its way back in via being mixed in with other meat sources.
Or cheap glue
Feeding the peasants
The price of gasoline is too low, and their budget is too high
Horses aren’t native to north america. They aren’t wild, they’re feral. Its not even old Spanish genetics, they’re just feral horses. Horses are stupid expensive for just a hobby so they get released all the time. They overgraze extremely hard because their digestive system is not designed for the western US.
MAGAts want this because they want to graze their cattle on what the horses are eating. I want this to restore some order to the entire ecosystem we destroyed. I want millions of wild bison.
There were native equines before the last ice age. They are appropriate for that ecology.
All equines originated from North America, at that, though yes they went extinct and were later reintroduced by Europeans.
Similarly, camelids like dromedaries, bactrians, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos also all originate from North America, their genetic ancestors crossing the Bering strait and moving west or moving south into South America. Those still in NA died in the mid-Pleistocene.
Are there too many or something? Just turn them into food I’m sure they taste fine enough and at least they’re grass fed and free range.
